Chapel Events

Chapel Worship

Robert Carr Chapel is used for a wide diversity of services & events. TCU chapel worship services are a long standing tradition since our opening in 1953. Open to the entire campus, TCU hosts these campus-wide worship services around the sacred seasons of the Christian year and the academic calendar. These range from the annual opening Frogs First Chapel (formerly known as Howdy Week Chapel) for incoming students, Carols by Candlelight each December, & Ash Wednesday service commencing the Lenten season. For more information about this year's TCU's chapel series please visit the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life worship webpage. In addition, several student religious organizations host their weekly worship events in the chapel. These worship services range from Catholic Mass to contemporary praise music services to meet the needs of our diverse student body.

Other Campus Programs

Robert Carr Chapel has proven to be a well-used versatile space for campus events over the decades whether they be concerts, honor society ceremonies, or lectures. All internal reservations must be submitted via the campus reservation form to the Chapel Coordinator; upon reviewing, the contact person will receive a response on the status of their request. To reserve the chapel, please fill out a campus reservation form. It may be brought into the Religious and Spiritual Life Office located on the first floor of Jarvis Hall, emailed to robertcarrchapel@tcu.edu, or faxed to 817.257.7304.

Memorial services

The chapel is only available for memorial services for active students, active or retired faculty/staff, or alumni who died while in active duty of one of the armed services. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accommodate others due to scheduling & campus needs. Reservations often cannot occur during peak class times due to parking limitations & must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Inquiries can be sent to the chapel office via email, robertcarrchapel@tcu.edu.

Community events

The chapel schedule usually does not allow for community events not affiliated with a university department or organization. Exceptions will be made on case by case basis & inquiries can be sent to the chapel office via email, robertcarrchapel@tcu.edu.”
